I'll never understand how people can live full lives after a family member has been murdered. It's unfathomable.
youtube and spotify suck
That’s insane I can’t fathom going through something like that I would be horrendously scarred for life.
My aunt was murdered right when I was born and they never found her or knew what happened to her. When I got into my teens people told me stories that she knew to much about certain things and her and her friend were both shot and put in barrels.
His poor parents. My goodness. You're never ever the same after something like this. You can make a billion dollars in life but a part of your soul is missing. His parents went through hell.
F*ck ISpast for goddamn ADS interrupting this story TWICE 🤬🤬🤬
*Emotionally dedicated to listening to this story* ISpast: "Oh hey, how about a commercial break?"
Insane life story you got their friend, may your sister Rest In Peace❤️. I lost my brother a few years back and yea it’s extremely tough to lose a loved one to say the least, words can’t describe the trauma I have to fight through and many more also have to fight through, you just wish you could have done something to prevent what happened but truth is, you couldn’t have done anything cause could’ve doesn’t exist, just as the past and future don’t exist, there’s only the present moment, and when ones awareness is brought to that moment, nothing matters, and that’s perfectly okay for nothing/ I am/ the present moment is an ancestral nature that continuously flows with infinite potential that each of us obtain for it is US that “ancestral nature” or present moment that brought US into existence.
april 2021 there's a guy working at a small hospital where i do some part time work , he was fake friendly at the start about 5 months ago, now he's a miserable person , does not want to say a word and always seems unhappy. I have a fear he's a workplace shooter type, i mean his energy is the worst in the building
Strange coincidence. Makes you wonder...
A Pakistani or Indian would have killed such a friend if he had ever said something about one's sister.
Its really hard but talking about things like this really helps also with any intrusive thoughts you may have.
Anyone else not have a clue who 90 % if Joe's guest are ?
Very powerful story from the legend. Glad to hear that he is finally getting some peace after all these years.
Evil hates good
The Iron Sheiky loves Mr. Dan Gable. Both true legends.
Not sure how I feel about adverts playing during this.
Very Powerful... Unfortunately, that event shaped the rest of his life, but in a positive way. He lived for his family for his sweet, innocent sister. I am glad that the monster neighbor gave him some type of closure after 40 years. "In order for the wine to be great, the vines must suffer".
Lol
I have a twin sister this broke my heart this guy has a lot of strength being able to tell his story
Dan Gable is The Man
Joe this is why you are the best. You just shut the fuck up, and let the man tell his story.
the greatest wrestler that ever lived Dan Gable
A mother take care of her princess and raising and loving in split of a second just gone this is heavy.
Damn
Imagine how much frustrating he took out on the wrestling matches that stemmed from his sister's murder.
As a US Soldier I would follow his lead anywhere, I wish we had leadership like this, God bless him and his family always
poor girl
The amount of violent crime in America is just heart wrenching
For the first time in my life I actually had to stop watching. The way he described his mother’s grief was unbearable to even listen to
He probably would wrestle and imagine it was the 16 yr old punk. Then easier to win.
This helped fuel his drive in wrestling.
Moving
That was one really heavy story. Goodness.....
I’m bawling...for all of us. We’ve all got such deep struggles & experiences....that he went on to become such a stable & successful person is a testament to so much.
joe where is episode 331?
These is why men should never excuse “Locker room Talk”
I have spotify but come here to listen to JRE...
Wow!
Life lesson, never let someone speak under their breath. If someone says something that hints towards wrong doing, you crush them.
What an amazing man, very inspiring
There is a Theory called Chaos theory .Its like When everything is perfect in your life then you either invite chaos or it itself come to you .
Maybe the phone call wasn’t a coincidence
Wow.
PLS INVITE DEVON LARRATT IN YOUR SHOW
At least in the end, killer found the soul of his. And relieving the some pain from Dan, his soul might get some mercy
Come back joe, give spotify their 💰 back. We will be here.
People, what are we doing? This is our world... We are fucking garbage as a species... Dan Gable sir, im sorry for your family's loss.
Poor family, tragic, makes you realise how lucky you are. Thanks for sharing Dan
I’m sorry to hear about your sister. Don’t feel guilty because he probably would have killed her one way or another. Especially if he says he wanted to kill someone.
Yall should probably take ads of this 😬
Think Joe is trolling us now. It's like the more we bitch about spotify, the longer his sales pitch becomes at the end of his vids 😂
He has his bad stand up tone
Forgiveness is an underrated concept
Ok so a man emotionally struggling to tell the story about losing his sister to murder is trally not the classiest place to place a TikTok -ad in the middle of
My heart goes out to you and your family 🙏
I almost didn't click on this, glad I did. It definitely deserves a lot more views.
May all the pain in the world heal amen.
God bless this man
The splendid segment pathogenetically puncture because brush unsurprisingly dress vice a kaput helen. staking, jobless entrance
What about his brother Clark?
This man was one of my heros growing up. That was an amazing story. I never knew this had happened.
Shit like this makes you realize your problems aren't that bad.
This just helped me realize I truly need to communicate with family about a stalker that has resurfaced.
Total respectful silence from Joe throughout this entire harrowing, heart-rending story.
What an absolute legend human being. One of my heros. I didn’t even know he was on Joe Rogan.
That was harrowing, dark, yet uplifting story... *CATCH NEW EPISODES OF THE JOE ROGAN EXPERIENCE FOR FREE, ONLY ON SPOTIFY!!*
This man is very brave talking about this
Skgbnvvvb
Dan the Man 💪 💪
It is nice to be reminded to stay humble, this man is 10x the man I could ever be.
I was out walking and literally sat down and just listened to this story. Maybe one of the heaviest and best moments on the JRE podcast.
Sorry for your loss man.
I purchased and am reading his book "a wrestling life" this man has more heart and determination in his pinky finger than most men have in their entire body. The Russians repeatedly had him tested for drugs during competition be he was so dominant. JS
My Grandfather's second wife had her mouth glued shut, raped, beaten, and murdered while my Grandpa was on duty as a Highway Patrol Officer. The man responsible was executed 6 years ago and I was proud of my Grandpa for how strong he was not to seek revenge but I couldn't nor forgive myself for actions I would of taken.
this is like a nightmare movie... smh. RIP
:( I feel the mother's pain
Dam good show JR, wow
Waterloo??? This story from Iowa???
Wow powerful story Jesus!!!
This is one strong , special individual here! Many may not know but after his sister’s murder , his parents never went into her room. They left everything the way it was. Dan as a young boy saw how his family was hurting and decided one night to sleep in his sisters bed. He walked right past his parents into her room. He says from that point his parents began to heal. Incredible!
Incredible sadness. Very sobering.
Does anyone know if his Spotify contract can expire or something so Joe can come back to ISpast?
SPIRIT
This is why Joe Rogan is probably the Top Podcaster on the Internet I've seem other interviews with Dan Gable, but I've never seen him so accessible and human like this interview. This is the strength of the Long Form Podcast Interview - on Corporate Media, this would have been chopped up into little soundbyte segments.
@Carl Jacobson lol. Youre right though. The whole interview would have been cramped up into 15 mins with a 7 min break in between
@Stanna Oh, the IRONY...
You mean like 10 min clips?
You can see Dan is still traumatized by this. PS. Spotify sucks - come back to YT
Dan, you were a childhood hero of mine. I'm so sorry to hear of your sister. Makes me admire you even more. God bless
What are the chances, Dan Gable's sister AND Iron Shiek's daughter both murdered and they trained wrestling together
God bless the Gable family. Thank you for sharing your vulnerability and strength in such a heartbreaking part of your story.
Been a fan of Gables since a kid wrestler and never knew this. Now I m a bigger fan, all grown up. So tough, and yet expressive and full of ❤. BLESSINGS.
Wow. What a heartbreaking story.
What a gut wrenching story.
People like that should never get out. Unfortunately even serial have gotten to kill again.
Feelings of guilt are horrible things that can eat you alive. No matter what, you could not see the future, so not speaking up at the time is not your fault. I speak from experience.
this is why joe is my favorite host (he didn't talk) (didn't try to sympathize) (didn't make it about him)
